My Top 5 Favorite Christmas Songs

(i was in my 20s before i realized that the song I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus referred to the child's parents, not his adulterous mother and an opportunistic Santa. So for a long time i thought the song was rather scandalous.)
Come All Ye Faithful....as performed by the Blind Boys. Ever since hearing it sung in a multi-congregational service at Mid City in the different languages i haven't been able to get through it without choking up.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas....great lyrics. Christina Aguilera has a good version. (don't judge me, the girl can sing and you know it)
Christmas Song....Dave Matthews Band (on the Maybe This Christmas Too album) Dave & Co. doing what they do best.
Carol of the Bells......especially performed only by voices, cool stuff. i could listen on repeat for 8 hours.
O Come, O Come Emmanuel....nice and haunting, like all church music should be :P Good lyrics, too.
What's your favorite Christmas song or version of a song?

is it just me, or is 'have yourself a merry little christmas' kind of a sad song? maybe that's why i like it so much.
ok, but the best ever christmas song is 'silent night'. especially when simon and garfunkel do it, and they have the evening news being read in the background. craaazy...

clint black's slow ass christmas? no...? we learned silent night in german last year for my class... that one is pretty cool because its the original and it actually makes a little more sense than the english version. i am a big fan of all things christmas a cappella or instrumental.

this doesnt have anything to do with christmas music, but i just signed on to my google homepage where i have a "quote of the day" waiting for me. these quotes are always by famous people, some are silly and some are profound but today it read like this:
"I like to play blackjack. I'm not addicted to gambling, I'm addicted to sitting in a semi-circle."
- Mitch Hedberg
lets all give a round of golf applause for mitch and google.

Ah Mitch. Good stuff.

Explanation to those not possessing Baker DNA: Our mom has a Clint Black Christmas album with a song called 'It's As Slow As Christmas,' but Clint has children singing the chorus so it ends up sounding like "It's a slow-ass Christmas" which is especially funny to hear sung by children.
